New site design

Partly to motivate people to come and climb Fuji, and partly because I've been wanting to change things for a while now, there is a new design with a shot from Fuji for the background.

I've playing around a little bit a with web design recently, since I did work's new site. It's been fun.

Oh, and one more thing. Mini and I are going to go to Kyoto for five days around the 20th of this month. If anyone has any recommendations for what we might do, I'd be delighted to hear them.

Good night all!

Whoa there Nelly!

If you actually visit this site rather than viewing the xml feed in your aggregator of choice, then you may have noticed some aesthetic changes. This is mainly due to my having upgraded to movable type 3.15.

Why the upgrade? Well, mostly it's because I'd like to be able to turn comments on, but to do that, I need me some kinda in-surance. Which mt-3.15 and typekey may afford me.

Probably won't though.

TV for you and me

Just a short bit of site news...the magisys television guide has come back, and it's bigger and better than ever.

Actually, that's not true, it's almost exactly the same as it was.

But it works!

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes changes

I've been messing around with the site's css, trying to iron out some interface bugs that have been bothering me. It seems to render properly under the gecko and khtml engines, but I don't have access to IE. So, if you are using IE (or any other browser for that matter), and it does look broken or weird, could you post a comment, and maybe send me a screenshot?

Changes!

Update: I have altered magisys.net's main index, it requires a viewing window at least 1000 pixels wide, and probably won't render in IE at all! Lemme know if it does.

Magisys.net has officially moved to a new server. Hosted on Pudding, Robin's off-site server, which is good news for y'all that hated waiting so freakin' long for photos to download.

Magisys.net mail and tv are still hosted on hadrian, my little 166MHz pentium II sitting back in Newcastle, bravely holding together my old home network

::sniff::

New look

I updated hadrian today, which completely stuffed my weblog up. The choice was either to rebuild using blosxom, or migrate to movable type which I've been thinking about doing for some time now. So I made the switch.

So far, everything has worked really well, and I'm happy with the look of the site. The only problem is that I haven't yet transferred the comments, which I may do in the future.

Props to my Homies

I was browsing the 'net today, like any other day, when I came across a link to my site on Saranne and Jared's most excellent site. Just thought I'd tell you guys (all three of you).

Gallery Section Added

A new Gallery Section has been added to the site, a link to it is on the left below "Navigate the site". Check it out, or be yourself, tiger phantom!

Update: the gallery section link can now be found on the right of the main page below Places of Interest.

First Post

Well here I am, a member of the great unread (or joining the ranks of the unread, as Robin would have it). Embarking upon the adventure that is blogging, diving deep into the unknown waters of the 'net, vainly attempting to sound adventurous and brave. And I'm starting to notice that trying to come off all self deprecating, just makes one sound like a tosser...oh well.
