March 2006 Archives
I made Oyakodon last night, and it was scrumptious. The details of the recipe (being in Japanese) were sometimes a little foggy, but with hours of dictionary use and a couple of minutes Stan being nice enough to help me (people are much faster than dictionaries), I had Oyakodon!
The process has been (mostly) documented here, so take a look if you wanna make some yourself.
The final product?
Right, erm...lemme find the link...
Ah, here we are:
(I could've placed it somewhere nice, instead of next to a pair of scissors, but I was very hungry at this point)
I have 22 photos (about 37MB) from my oyakodon experiment uploading to flickr at the moment. Flickr uploads aren't fast at the best of times, and I'm currently uploading to various other places at about 150KB/s...which is keeping me slow.
Long story short, I'm going to sleep now and write up the food process on magisys.net tomorrow.
If you wanna visit any already uploaded photos, go here.
...or mushy goo.
I'm currently trying to translate a recipe in a Japanese cookbook. If I don't suitably mess things up, I'll be cooking oyakodon for dinner tomorra night and posting some pictures along with it. I'll even include some instructions for those game enough to try it at home...of course, you could just google the recipe I guess, but where's the fun in that?
