Just got home

Yawn, I just got home then.

After work, I met up with Heath and Mark for pool and drinks. With pool, we bought bottles of beer from which we poured our glasses. Makes sense? Good.

So, we played pool, my skill level improved dramatically when someone (Mark?) suggested I actually 'look' in the direction I was shooting, and eventually I was doing okay (I claim the last game as mine!). So, we get through a few games (Heath's granddad was a pool shark, and it seems to be genetic), and have a lot of fun, when we decide (it could have been the beer) that we need food...and now!

So, we leave the pool hall and walk across the street to TGI Fridays. All good, right? Well, almost. We didn't actually start our last (big) bottle of beer, so I had asked for a lid and was given some saran wrap (glad wrap) and an elastic band. I tried to seal the bottle, and I think I succeeded. So we go to TGI Fridays, eat buffalo wings, another fatty meat dish and some kind of meat-based fat dish. All is good.

And then.

Heath looks at his watch, I look at Heath's watch and we realise the last train is either already gone (in my case), or about to go (in Heath's). So we run. I check the train timetable from my phone, it says to catch the 12:04 from Shimokitazawa all the way to Horinouchi via the Odakyu line. I say thank you very much phone-based-timetable. I step onto train. I check next step in itinerary, phone says "300 min wait at Shinyurigaoka", I cry, look in bag, realise beer has spilled all throughout my gear, $50 tie ruined, iPod maybe destroyed, pack of mints heavily soaked. I cry. Check iPod - it works, cry less.

So, my timetable says I have to wait at Shinyurigaoka until after 5am, but I am courageous and strong. Also, I realise that the timetable must be wrong. So, after recheck, I realise I can catch train to Tama Center station and walk the one-hour-walk home. I walk it. I am home. I am relieved. Thus ends my tale.

So, the moral? Don't live in freakin' Horinouchi. Seriously, it's just a all-out bad idea. Move to Meidaimae as soon as possible. I know I will.

Glad to see the hero of the tale came through in the end. And iPod sidekick is okay too. Yay.

Thanks man, yeah I'm very happy for Poddy, had he been injured, I would be a very sad man.
