This is the first time I have been able to connect to the internet since the airport. We do not have any connection at home, and we have been (as of yet) unable to find an internet cafe. I am typing this in a Library, and hoping I don't get attacked by the staff for abusing the intarweb's rules.
Japan has been great so far, it snowed on the second night, and that was really beautiful. Walking around Tokyo covered in white was...wow.
My Canadian and American flat mates are really nice, and Thad (the American) lived here a fews ago for quite some time, so he has become our unofficial guide. Stan knows some Japanese (about two year's worth of study, so I'm the official know-nothing。
Anyways, my knees are getting sore (have to kneel to type this), so I will go now. Will definitely upload images, and the long post that I have written on my laptop. I will also email everyone who has been nice enough to email me, and even some of those who haven't :-).
Will write again (hopefull) soon.
Flew in from Sydney yesterday, and boy are my cliches tired.
Seriously folks, in Narita, about to embark for Tokyo (I think my apartment is in the equivalent of Blacktown or some such).
Well, I think that's all I have time for, this cost me 100 yen as it is.
Will update in the future.
Two hours' sleep will do that to a guy.
Good work Josh!
Eech!
So, it's 01:35 the night (morning?) before I leave, and I think I'm only a third of the way through getting ready...
Computers here (at my parent's house) need fixing, hardware needs tuning, skype (or otherwise) accounts need setting-up for free phone calls, and everything else that depends on me here is in dire need of doing.
Argh!
Mostly, I'm afraid of going away and not being able to fix important things that need fixing.
What will they do without me?
Maybe I think a little too highly of their desperate need of me.
Maybe just a little.
Hopefully.
The photo sets from dinner out and the last dnd session are available on flickr.
I leave you with one of my faves from the dinner out set, Aletha playing dead.

I leave for Japan on Tuesday, that's soon.
In preparation, I have been spending much time with friends. Wednesday night was dinner at Monkey Monkey Monkey in Darby street. Then over to the Del for a coupla drinks in the beer garden.
Thursday was rpg night (as it has been for the last few weeks). Some dice were rolled, I spoke with a pirate accent, Nat ruled with a bearded face and we all had fun.
I have really enjoyed spending time with these people and I made some new friends. That always seems to happen to me just before a going away. I make a bunch of great new friends, and then either they or I run off to a different country/city/plane of existence.
Today, I met with an old friend that I hadn't seen in ages, topping off the end of friend's week.
And now, well now I'm trying to complete painting the ceiling at my parent's place (only about 18 months too late).
Actually, now I'm watching Alias, but the sentiment is the same.

Seriously, how long is the next episode of x going to take?
What is a stay-at-home bum like me supposed to do?

And I will call a reckoning!
Angry, angry Beazley...I bet he thinks the waiting game sucks.

The only photo I got of our new year's eve fireworks. So much fun, so little photos.
I can never sign my name the same way twice. This is a problem when trying to buy goods with stolen my credit cards.
I have spent the last two minutes creating a digital signature that I am going to print out onto giant-arse stickers. With said stickers I will sign by sticking them to my forehead and shouting "Do you think I'd do this for fun?" No-one could deny me anything under those circumstances.
